How To Shallow Fry With Extra Light Olive Oil

Shallow-frying food to crispy perfection is easy when you follow these simple steps. First, fill a high-sided saucepan with 1-inch of olive oil. Heat it until the oil reaches 375°F on a deep fry thermometer. Then gently place food in the pan so it’s partially submerged in oil. To maintain a constant temperature, be careful not to overcrowd the pan. And make sure your food is dry before placing it in the oil. This prevents splattering.

Shallow fry until golden brown and cooked through. It should only take only a minute or two per side.

When your food is ready, carefully remove and place it on paper towels to drain excess oil.
